On this large model of ancient Rome by Italo Gismondi in the Museo della Civiltà Romana we see in the foreground the Circus Maximus, overlooked by Palatine Hill with its Imperial residences. Behing it are the Colosseum and the temple of Divus Claudius to its right. The Aqua Claudia aquaduct, delivering water to the residences, is clearly visible.
