 | Swaziland Independence Celebrations On 6 September 1973 Swaziland celebrated its Independence in the Somhlolo Stadium in Lobamba. Guests arrived, the new army and the traditional "Emabutfo" regiments marched in, the King's wives and daughters took their place in the stadium and His Majesty King Sobhuza II arrived in a Landrover. The new "Gcina" regiment, youngsters that train in agricultural practices, put on a display and then the King, his regiments, wives and daughters performed the ancient war dance "iNqaba kaNqofula". After a solo praise dance by a visiting Zulu warrior King Sobhuza II rejoined his guests: King Moshoeshoe II of Lesotho and King Goodwill Zwelithini of Zululand. |  |
